I suppose this winter is no worse than any other as far as weather goes, but it seems that the longer I live, the less I surf. There really is no particular reason, or should I say excuse? I have all the cold water gear, and I'm not any less stoked about surfing as I was as a grom. It's just that life tends to get in the way. The strange irony in it all is that if I could just find the way to carve out a session or two, I know it would get me thru until the weather turns. Until then, I guess I will have to just watch the cams and swell models in the off chance I can go grab me some.

Rabbit Retires
Like many surfers, I have followed the ASP over the years which is to say, I watch the standings. Since I'm more of a peripheral observer, I never really paid much attention to who was running the Association of Surfing Professionals. Sure, I knew Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew was the prez, but past there I'd say I knew zero. What I do know is he's been running the show for a long time and been a prominent figure in surfing longer than I've surfed. I think it's safe to say he will leave a successful legacy of positive influence. The CT will certainly not be the same without him.
